Cross Quarter Day

Imbolc, Candlemass, Chinese Year of the Rabbit, and it is finally above zero degrees here in Boulder.  The day is winter beautiful all blue and white.  I can feel that spring is close.  It is still light at dinner time, and the daffodil plant on the table looks at home.

Meanwhile, revolution is afoot, in Tunisia, Egypt, Jordon, and possibly Russia.  Although these movements are inspiring,  in the US it seems that it is business as usual.  More and more set backs to people's rights, health care, pure food, speech, etc.  Christianity and Buddhism tells us to love and honor our opponents, to honor them for the lessons we learn from contact with this energy.  This is often difficult. Anger and suspicion get in the way of love and acceptance.

It is not necessary to go far from home to see our neurosis in action.  Our interactions with intimates are the most instructive.   Blaming the Other for ones emotional states is easy.  To guard against this and to recognize our own responsibility is a continual practice.  So, perhaps with the new moon turning it is time to rededicate ourselves to whatever it is that makes us the most sane.        Practice, Practice, Practice....hopefully makes perfect.

Blessings to you all as we slide into spring.
