Higher Consciousness

It is undeniable.  The world is in transition.  Revolution, earth changes, obvious political manipulations, are  occurring.  We are all affected.  Political beliefs of any strip are not protection against the impact of the changes.  It is all happening now.

Recently an acquaintance stated that a jump in consciousness was often discuss as a solution to these issues, but he doubted that many know what this meant.  It seemed too abstract for general consumption.

We have heard the idea that positive global transformation can only occur if there is a increase in individual consciousness.  Most of us do not spend out time thinking about higher consciousness, nor how it is  achieved.  We seldom ask ourselves what a change in consciousness would mean to us individually, our communities and the world.

Now I don't want to suggest that I  have actually experienced Higher Consciousness.  However I can speculate about a leap that would brings us to Higher Consciousness.  I use the word leap intentionally.  I think consciousness is quantized,  that is it is independent of time.  Just as an electron is conveniently pictured as   jumping from one energetic level to another (Picture a graph with time on the x-axis, and energy state on the y-axis.  The jump would be a vertical line), so can consciousness jump if enough and the right type of energy is supplied.  This event as the elevation of an electron is time independent.

So lifetimes are not required for this change, only the correct inputs and clear intent.  (Some systems say we are all already there, and only have to realize That.)  Most of us know that nothing can be accomplished without setting out intention.  We must want to do something before we can do it.  Intent is even recognized in the judicial system.  So wanting to clear our minds, and see what is real must be present as a desire and intent.

What other inputs might be necessary?  To begin with compassion for friend and non-friend alike, awareness that is discriminating and constant, a sense of being on a path, a consistent contemplative practice, and an knowledge of how our behavior effects our loved ones, neighbors, and the person who lives on the other side of the globe.

This is my short list.  I would love to hear for readers about their ideas regarding this topic.  I also would like to hear some ideas about a definition of  Higher Consciousness.  Perhaps a discussion of this would be one of the inputs.  Check out the comment section at the bottom of the blog.
